We are now able to offer Disclosure Scotland Basic Disclosure checks using the online Employmentcheck.org system.

Currently a Basic Disclosure check can only be carried out by Disclosure Scotland, although based in Scotland they have access to the UK Police National Computer.

A Basic Disclosure will provide employers with details of all ‘Unspent’ convictions.(recent convictions and convictions which resulted in a prison sentence of 4 years or more). Unlike DBS checks, there is no eligibility criteria for a Basic Disclosure. Therefore if you have staff who for example, have access to sensitive data, cash or valuables and you would like a vetting check carried out, but there is no eligibility for a DBS check, then a Basic Disclosure check can be carried out. Basic Disclosure checks are also required for vetting users of the Public Service Network (PSN) and contract staff on the ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme.

Our online service will allow the completion of applications and ID verification to be completed electronically and sent securely to Disclosure Scotland using their approved ‘Business2Business’ protocol.

This will save your organisation costs and resources as the process is quicker than paper applications and there are no postal or courier costs.
