Devon County Council’s Safer Recruitment Service has a General Data Protection Regulations 2017 Privacy Policy for DBS applicants using the our service

We are now able to offer DBS Basic level Disclosure checks using the online Employmentcheck.org system.

A Basic Disclosure will provide employers with details of all ‘Unspent’ convictions.(recent convictions and convictions which resulted in a prison sentence of 4 years or more). Unlike DBS checks, there is no eligibility criteria for a Basic Disclosure. Therefore if you have staff who for example, have access to sensitive data, cash or valuables and you would like a vetting check carried out, but there is no eligibility for a DBS check, then a Basic Disclosure check can be requested. Basic Disclosure checks are also required for vetting users of the Public Service Network (PSN) and contractor staff on the ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme.
